Security is where you:

•Create, maintain, and list Users, passwords, and their related properties

•Create, maintain, and list Groups, and their related properties

•Create, maintain, and list Access to Libraries, on the part of Users and Groups

Overview of the Security Model

Document images are stored in compressed and encrypted format in a file subsystem called a library.

Access to libraries is established/controlled by an administrator who has been assigned rights to archive administration.

The administrator assigns default Read/Write/Delete permissions to individual libraries that establish and control access for any and all users.

Access can then be further restricted by user and group:

•If an individual user has been set up with specific access criteria, which overrides the default permissions of the library,

or

•If an individual user has been assigned to a group, in which case the access rights of the group override the default permissions of the library.

Library default permissions for Read, Write, or Delete access are assigned in Libraries administration.

User and Group library access permissions are assigned in the "Library Access" options off the main Security Maintenance  menu which is shown below.

IMPORTANT NOTE regarding GROUP security change from UnForm 7.1:

If a user is assigned to one or more groups, default library permissions are no longer applied.

In Version 7.1, default library permissions were applied in addition to group membership permissions.

This meant that if the default library access was Read, a user would have access to a library even if all assigned groups were denied access.

This change gives group membership precedence over default access, and provides the administrator more explicit control over library access.
